NHS revokes funding for Uveitis – please sign the petition

Some children with JIA can also develop inflammation within the eye, a condition known as Uveitis.Children with Uveitis can often suffer irreversible damage to the eye or worse still, blindness, from the disease. It has been announced that funding has been revoked for vital drugs for Uveitis; the third most common cause of preventable blindness in the UK. The NHS has revoked funding despite clear clinical evidence and medical support. As a result of this decision, up to 1,000 patients a year could go blind as a result of this decision and patients will have to self-fund £10,000 a year to save their sight.
England is the only country in the developed world not funding drugs which are freely available in Scotland and Wales. Please help to change this decision by signing this petition and spread the word by sharing and encouraging your friends and family to sign it too! Thank you.
