Three of our volunteers were delighted to attend the British Society for Rheumatology annual conference in Glasgow last week. From running a stand and introducing our new award badge ‘Next Steps’, to giving our own short talk (‘Why you need parent/carer help in preparing children and young people to move on from paediatric services’) as well as a joint poster presentation with Dr Patricia Watts (‘My Medicine and My Methotrexate: Co-Developing and Delivering Online Art Therapy Groups for Children and Young People with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis’), we had a busy few days!
We view the annual conference as a vital way to connect with health professionals across paediatric and adolescent rheumatology as well as those working in adult care who will treat our community in the future. It was lovely to see some familiar faces and make some new acquaintances. If you work in this area and were not at BSR26, please do get in touch with us – we would love to chat to you about how we can support your patients across the whole of the UK.
A huge thank you to our volunteers who gave up their time and travelled up to Glasgow to represent our charity!
